The Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation was established to enhance the quality of life for the older population in the East Valley, including Sun Lakes residents, in the areas of health, education and culture.
This is your foundation and needs your support.
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY AND HAVE FUN DOING IT!
Have you experienced the fun and excitement generated by the 50/50 Fund-Raising Raffles conducted by the Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation yet? You should try it sometime. Foundation members and their volunteer teams sell raffle tickets (fifteen for $10 or six for $5) one hour before the concert’s start time. Just minutes before the show starts, the money from the ticket sales is tallied and divided. The winning ticket is drawn and the cash prize is awarded to one lucky donor in the audience right before the show begins!
While it’s true that each 50/50 Raffle only produces ONE cash winner, all the Raffle participants and numerous Sun Lakes residents are winners in other ways, too. Between November 2017 and March 2019, your generous participation in the CWPV Foundation’s 50/50 Raffles has generated $14,313!
The Foundation uses the 50/50 Raffle proceeds to fund Grants to organizations and clubs that strive to enhance the quality of life for the older population of Sun Lakes and the East Valley and that promote Health, Education and Culture for those residents. Some of the CWPV Foundation’s Grant Award Recipients have been:
The Crystal Card Project
Walk With A Doc
Neighbors Who Care
Sun Lakes Creative
Children’s Theatre Group of the Sun Lakes Community Theatre
The Perfect Place Adult Day Services
The CWPV Foundation sincerely thanks the Management and Recreation Department of Cottonwood Palo Verde at Sun Lakes for allowing us to use their TAD Concert venues in the San Tan Ballroom at Cottonwood for our ongoing Fund-Raising efforts!
We hope to see you, and sell you some Raffle tickets, at the next TAD Concerts: ’56 Rock n Roll on May 7th and Johnny Cash on May 21st. Show tickets can be purchased at the Administration Office of Cottonwood Palo Verde at Sun Lakes or online at the Homeowners Only page of cottonwoodpaloverde.com.
The Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation is growing again! Nancy Osborne has just joined the Foundation as one of its Directors. Nancy was born and raised in Port Angeles, WA. She co-owned and operated a printing business in the Seattle area for over 35 years. During that time, she discovered a passion for fundraising and volunteering. Nancy was the chairperson for an annual dinner and auction event to support Swedish Hospital. She also volunteered at the local food bank and was associated with New Horizons Ministries which provided hot meals and shelter from the weather for homeless youth in Seattle. After retiring in 2013, Nancy moved to Sun Lakes where she found a new volunteer home with Neighbors Who Care. The CWPV Foundation is very pleased to add Nancy’s enthusiasm and fund-raising skills to our 501 (c) 3 charitable organization!
